Fall Release Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir
2010

Winemaker’s Notes

This is the fourth release from our tightly-planted Estate property and it builds strongly upon the quality we’ve seen so far from this young vineyard. You don’t have to hunt out the quality in this bottling – it makes a strong statement immediately on opening. It’s a bold, strident wine that’s beautifully integrated, complex and complete with zero excess weight or blowsy texture – just continually structured power, intensity and focus. There’s a prominent thread of vitality and energy running through the wine from fist sniff to lingering aftertaste. Right now it’s all about fruit purity and vertical cascading flavors as opposed to broad horizontal richness – but this will come with aging. It’s a sophisticated expression of a unique vineyard and clearly one of the wines of the vintage.

Brilliant deep rose color. Penetrating floral, fruit and herbal aromas: black cherry and raspberry, fresh herbs, fragrant flowers, toffee and cocoa powder. Great vineyard purity with tightly entwined aromas and flavors. Dark fruits, earth, fresher blueberry, orange zest, a hint of black olive. Structured back end with lifting acidity and youthful tannins. Drink between 2013 and 2022.
