Fall Release Bressay Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir
2023

Winemaker’s Notes

The lower block in our organic Bressay Estate produces the core of Finn Pinot Noir, and the upper parcels anchor Chloe Chardonnay. That leaves the mid-slope for this small bottling, a special favorite of our winemaking team each vintage. In this hillside section, the soils are shallow enough to make the vines work hard, but not to the extent that irrigation is required. What results are some of the finest grapes in our entire portfolio—thick skins full of aroma and flavor potential, vibrant crunchy acidity, and a core essence that gives this wine its forthright signature. Fermentation with whole bunches nudges the wine into the fragrant woodsy-savory spectrum, so expect something singular and nuanced with this small production bottling. One of the wines of the vintage with aging potential of twelve years.

Beautifully fragrant wine with aromas and flavors reminiscent of rose petals, wintergreen, woodsy cedar, violet and blueberry and blackberry fruits. On the medium-bodied palate, the wine is dynamic, juicy, and supple and turns textured and silky with air in the glass. Surprisingly mouth filling given its cool climate style, it echos long on the energetic finish. Drink between 2025 and 2035.
